Match compares ontologies for this keyword only: 1.00 is the best match. It counts the ontology's matching terms, gives more weight to terms BioPortal ranks higher, and adds a bonus when a term's name is exactly your keyword.
Quality is the average of four scores from 0 to 10: Describe (terms have labels and descriptions), Define (definitions exist and fit their labels), Connection (terms are linked by relations), and Flat (the hierarchy has depth and branching). "#2 of 9" is the rank among the scored results for this search.
Badge color follows the score itself, not the rank: 7 or higher, 5 to 7, below 5, no score. So a #1 can still be red when nothing in the list scores well.
Define reads each ontology's own definition property too (for example NCIT's). Where that changes the score, the details also show the score from the standard definition properties alone.
